It was 5 years ago that I was asked "what is your grandest dream, your greatest desire?" and the first words that popped into my mind were "to speak to the world". Those words not only surprised me but terrified me. I thought for sure the words would be "to get pregnant" or "to have a baby". So I put that surprising dream to the side and I spent the last 5 years focusing on building a community of support at Family Passages Mind Body Studio for women and couples struggling with fertility.

At the same time I was experiencing my own fertility journey. I realized over the years that giving birth to a child is not the only capacity I have. I learned to channel my fertile creative energy to give birth to many things including my Yoga for Fertility Handbook, a home based business under the umbrella of Dr Northrup and Team Northrup and I also gave birth to my dream of having my own studio and so much more.

Last winter I started to hear the calling deep down inside of me getting louder. "It is time to speak to the world". I felt a sense of urgency. I felt a need to take a step toward my dream of being on stage in front of thousands and sharing my message.

I have seen evidence and felt a shift and rising of the feminine energy. It is a necessary shift that will help contribute to a global healing movement. I know in my heart I am destined to play a role in that movement. I was afraid for the longest time, but today, I am no longer afraid because I know it is something I am being called to do. 

Last July I begin a speaker training program with Les Brown, one of the top motivational speakers in the world. I am honoured to be one of his Platinum Speakers. I look forward to learning from one of the best to develop my skills as a speaker. My vision is to inspire and empower healing on a global level. This is what I am here to do. It is clear that it is time to answer my calling "to speak to the world".

I recently launched my "larger than life" speaking career at the Dr Christiane Northrup event in Vancouver on Nov 3rd. As I stepped out on to the stage and began to speak to the audience of 2000, I felt exhilerated. As I got comfortable with the stage and the mic I had a deep sense of "coming home". At the end of the night a friend asked me how I felt about being on stage and my response was "give me back the mic, I am so ready."

What are you being called to do?

Chaos, A Sign of New Birth

I wanted a video of the recorded Sunday service I attended at AGAPE in LA. It was such an incredibly warm and welcoming environment. I listened to Rev Michael Beckwith's message again today and it is a powerful one that landed deep in my heart. I thought I would share with you.

The monthly theme was: The Courage to Emerge. Sunday's Topic: Chaos, A Sign of New Birth

On your fertility path there will be chaos, there will be challenges and perceived obstacles. From the chaos something new is wanting to be born. This message has helped me realize that following my calling to speak to the world is not coming at the price of putting my desire to adopt on hold. In fact, it is allowing both my callings to emerge and be born into existence. I need to create an environment within me and
"with out" that will be conducive for it's growth. I am giving birth to a new way of being in my life personally and professionally and on some level it scares me and on a deeper soul level, I know it is time to take the leap and grow my wings on the way down.

Physicians Prescribe Yoga

Finally more health care providers are recognizing the benefits of Yoga for their patients. I have been lucky to connect with such incredible Reproductive Specialists in Vancouver and the lower mainland that believe in the value of Yoga for Fertility for their patients. They have seen the difference when women attend classes. I am deeply grateful to be able to witness such incredible transformations from week 1 to week 6. It is really challenging to capture in words how much the classes help physically, mentally and emotionally. I have begun a research initiative with Clementine Hudson from LifeStreams to begin to measure the positive effects Fertility Yoga classes have on women. It will take some time to collect the data but we will share results as soon as possible. It is exciting! This means more classes will continue to be available all over the world. I will continue to train Fertility Yoga Instructors so that more women have access to these transformational and empowering classes.

Just when you feel like giving up...

I was sent an incredibly inspiring video that I feel compelled to share with you. I know for many of you, dealing with fertility challenges can be exhausting and there may be times when all the doors seem to be shutting around you. Well for each door that is shut there is another door you can open. There is always HOPE!

In times when you feel like giving up... or times that you have no more strength I encourage you to remember this video.

A Note to God

I just watched a performance by Charice singing "A Note to God" on Oprah. It was inspiring and moving. Click here to watch it.

As we go through life there will always be challenges or bumps on the road. A life challenge like fertility can feel crippling and isolating as the months and years pass. What if you could change your experience of your fertility? What if your life didn't have to be so hard?

Every day we have the ability to choose. In every situation we face everything boils down to one choice - Love or Fear. Fear is often disguised as doubt, worry, anger or confusion. It is our Fear that cripples us. It is the voice of Fear that holds us back from seeing another perspective. It is our Fear that keeps us from living and experiencing our full potential. Fear can also be sneaky and when you follow the path of Fear, you will find more pain, confusion and unhappiness.

Begin to listen to the voice of Love. It is a gentle, encouraging voice saying "come this way". When you choose Love even when you don't understand (logical mind) you will follow that loving voice of your soul, God, the universe, your inner guidance (whatever word makes sense for you) and it will lead you to everything you desire including your baby to be.

When faced with your next decision, take a moment to reflect, then ask yourself "Am I choosing Love or Fear?" Neither is right or wrong. There are lessons on both paths. I encourage you to choose Love as often as you can. You deserve to experience a life filled with love and trust. In fact, it is your true essence. Each time you purposefully choose Love, you come back home to SELF. Welcome home!

I ran a fertility support group last night and was deeply touched by the openness to share. We explored the anger, sadness and pain of fertility struggles. One of the biggest challenge for couples is that everyone else around them doesn't "get it". It has been something I have personally experienced and have heard over and over again from my clients. I am on a mission to help the world "get it". The video of my personal fertility journey will be available soon. I plan to speak to anyone that will listen. One way of another, one person at a time if I need to - I promise you, I will not give up until the world "gets it"! The view of fertility needs to shift so that women and couples all over the world feel more support as they take this challenging path. You are not alone! I "get it" so deeply and I will be your voice as long as you need me to be!

One women in the group last night mentioned a video she watched that captured one couples fertility journey. I just watched it through the tears in my eyes. Please watch it and pass it on to others. Together, we can continue to increase awareness.
